Valentine's

Well if anyone was actually ever reading this I'm sure they won't be anymore after such a ridiculously long hiatus! I'm still not dead, just busy and lazy with my free time! So I thought it was about time I posted something!

This is the card I made for my extremely wonderful boyfriend for Valentine's Day! It has some cute little details that you might not notice at first glance!

I was spoiled rotten on Saturday (that's when we had our Valentine's Day as we live 60 miles apart and only get to see each other at weekends :( ) We went to see The Fighter (it kept me entertained for an entire 2 hours, I didn't look at my watch or pop off for a wee once!). Huge achievement! And he treated me to an amazing meal in Cardiff Bay! I also had presents - I said I was spoiled! I had a voucher for a garra rufa fish foot treatment (which I've wanted to try for ages!), a lovely mug and some other bits and pieces. Well done Mr Brown!

I'm not dead!

Hi! No I'm not dead! Just been incredibly, unbelievably busy recently! We're on Christmas 2011 in work at the moment (nearly done thank goodness!). It's been a real slog! I'm doing overtime, wedding invites, magazine projects and trying to start planning for Christmas myself, phew!

Anyways, I just wanted to post the party invite I did for my Dad's birthday recently. He does scuba diving BTW!

Some good news: I have recently done 2 projects for Sew magazine so I will post them when they are published!

Wedding card

It's been such a long time since I posted! I feel very guilty! I suppose I've been busy but also feeling lethargic and ultimately lazy! The hot weather's really been wiping me out! I've also taken on a lot more responsibility in work recently so I'm much more worn out by the time I get home!

First I wanted to post a wedding card that I designed because 2 of my friends got married this year:

I put lots of twiddly, fiddly detail in and mocked it up, layering the elements on sticky pads and adding teeny gems to make it sparkle!

Second is a Father's Day card I designed for my dad.

Male cards can be difficult, I just wanted to keep this one simple and bright. I mocked it up with 'DAD' padded on and a couple of gems for some bling!

I'll try not to leave it so long next time!

Jo Jo Boot!

You can always rely on younger siblings for a bit of adoration and awe! Either that or a massive catty fight, lol!!! My little sis Jo, who is just finishing a degree in Fashion Design Technology at LCF (oooh-ooh-oooh!) posted about me on her blog yesterday and said some lovely things! Click to read her post. I am very proud of her as she has worked incredibly hard at uni despite having little encouragement or enthusiasm and constantly conflicting and contradictory advice from tutors.

Go Jo!

NB Jo Jo Boot is what she used to call herself when she was little and couldn't say 'Printall'!

Crafts Beautiful Project!

Very exciting! This morning Jen brought in the June issue of Crafts Beautiful which has my first published project in it!

I have been reading Crafts Beautiful for years and always hoped to write for them one day! It was so, so exciting to see my work in print, I'm really pleased with the photographs and how the article looks. It's so much fun to do something that I enjoy and get paid for it, I feel very lucky. I have quite a few more projects to do for them, I am hoping that it will be an ongoing thing.

Goodbye Card

This is the card I made for Lucy when she left.
